The grits in the shrimp and grits dish are exceptionally flavorful. I'm so pleased to have a place nearby that really knows how to do Cajun and Creole cuisine right.
We’ve been patrons of this restaurant for quite some time, and it never disappoints. It’s located in an area where restaurants frequently open and close, which speaks to its quality. The Cajun influence is both prominent and authentic, and the food rivals that of anything you’d find in New Orleans. If you visit a regionally inspired restaurant and see it bustling with locals from that area, you know it’s a great place to eat. If you find something that sounds appealing, give it a try! I especially recommend the Boudin, the Gumbo (they have several varieties, and my favorite is the Ya Ya), and everything related to their crab dishes.
We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered at Cajun Steamer Bar and Grill. It was a Saturday night, and there was a line out the door, but our orders were taken quickly once we were seated. Our server and the hostess were both friendly and efficient. Since we were staying at the Courtyard by Marriott, we appreciated being able to walk over for a meal without having to drive. The food was absolutely delicious, and the prices were reasonable considering all the dishes and drinks we ordered!
The carburized oysters were GREAT! I like the peasant catfish and Cajun potatoes, but the shrimp dough was TOO sweet. It tasted like a sweet roll against a crab cake. Total great service and worth waiting. I will definitely be back!!
Great atmosphere and great oysters! We had oysters three ways fried, Rockefeller and charbroiled. Personally I liked the charbroiled best, nothing wrong with the order two. The cheese was great on the charbroiled. I will be back for sure!!
