The tiramisu had a strange chocolate garnish on top that tasted more like plastic than chocolate. The small chocolate cake was extremely dry, and even though the baker claimed it was fresh, we couldn't shake our doubts. I wouldn’t return.
The Sweetwater Cafe at Chateau Yering Hotel is situated within the charming historic grounds of the hotel, nestled between the old building and the guest rooms. The space is bright and offers lovely views of the beautiful gardens on both sides. Unfortunately, the dining experience fell short; the food lacked flavor and creativity, which is surprising for a hotel of this caliber. The service was also disappointing, with no one to greet guests upon arrival and lengthy waits for taking orders. Overall, both the main restaurant and the cafe require significant improvements in service.
We recently had lunch here, and it was a disappointing experience! The highlight of the meal was probably the wine from Tarrawarra. Unfortunately, the pasta was pre-cooked and then reheated, so both the pasta and sauce were overly hot when served, almost as if they had been microwaved. The antipasto platter was the worst I've ever encountered. The meats were old and chewy, not freshly sliced, and were served with just four small crackers for $24—definitely not worth it, not even something I would feed to my dogs! The service left much to be desired; I had to get up to refill my own water. Plus, we were charged an additional 10% for the weekend, which was frustrating. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place at all costs—terrible food, poor service, and that extra charge just made it worse.
We were on Saturday afternoon, we were 4 adults. the location is really nice and the personal was really nice. Unfortunately, eating was not good at all. we had the Italian style burger, the sweetburger, the gerstensalat and calamari. that was not fresh at all. the Burger bung looks like a few days, the calamari was very fish and the salads had no taste. was very disappointed. the place has so much potential, only need to update the menu and possibly a new cook or fresh ingredients.
We had breakfast here as part of the Go Wild Ballooning package. It was all you could eat cereal and toast and some deli style meats and cheese as well as one main breakfast. I had bircher muesli and wholegrain toast followed by the big breakfast. A flat white was included. Overall it was quite good. Mish
