From the bottomless Mimosa, to the raw oysters, all the way to the Oyster Scampi and Ceviche! EVERYTHING, and I meanEVERYTHING is absolutely DELICIOUS. The Po Boy and Sitka Salmon Scramble were very flavorful. The staff is very attentive andready to offer recommendations and answer any questions. The atmosphere is laidback and inviting. The entree portions are prettygenerous, too. Everything is so FRESH!!! Great experience.
Went to this place for happy hour with a few friends. I tried the raw and cooked oysters. Both were pretty good, I also ordered a rum punch which was tasty but strong. When I went it wasn?t really packed however the space was pretty tight and I found thatthe person I was sitting next to at the bar we kept bumping into each other because of how close the chairs were placed.
Great neighborhood seafood place. Came for Happy Hour and managed to try multiple raw and cooked dishes. Great food, fresh oysters, and excellent neighborhood vibe. As a solo business traveler, sit at the bar or watch the oyster shucker working at the front. Clearly a local favorite.
Wish I could give Brine a better score, but when I'm out and about in DC nowadays, it really does come down to the customer service. Sat at the bar on a relatively quiet Saturday night, excited to check out the spot for the first time. Immediately felt like I was inconveniencing the bartender (no cheerful hello though the bar was empty, no comforting small talk about the specials or suggestions for a cocktail all the reasons I prefer dining at the bar) but I nevertheless ordered from the menu which looked fresh and vibrant. The clam chowder had come highly recommended by a friend so I was excited to dive into it, but sadly received it barely a few degrees over cold leaving the bits of clam and some unrendered bacon suspicious upon each chomp. But! Hey, I can recognize great flavor and it would have been a 5/5 if hot, so I was hoping to ask the bartender to pop it into the microwave for a couple of minutes but alas, he didn't even check in to ask how I found it. Not even to offer water. Not once. The last thing I want to feel when dining out is like I've been taken advantage of (I also realize the average price of a cocktail in DC $16) but at the bottom of the menu, there is a notice: ALL CHECKS OVER $100 SUBJECT TO 20% GRATUITY. Easily done when the entrees average $35+ and if the server is attentive not when they literally ignore you. This was in contrast to the shift Manager who was graciously greeting guests behind me, checking in on them at the oyster bar. Making recommendations and small talk. My check came out to roughly $75 and yet I was still charged a mandatory 20%. I decided I wouldn't put up a fight maybe the guy had a bad night. Hope that's the case because that'll be my take when friends ask me about recommendations on H Street moving forward
Best lobster bisque I’ve ever had! Good flavor and consistency. I like that it’s thinner. And good pieces of lobster meat in it.
