Sage - Waitsfield

I am giving this restaurant 2 stars because if the service and atmosphere. Our server Tim was great, very attentive and prompt. The restaurant looked super nice and was welcoming. There was only one problem and that was the food. They were out of multiple items including calamari, lobster and garlic bread. How do you run out of bread and garlic. But we still ordered a few different items. The scallops were raw and not even a little seared. Inedible. The macaroni and cheese was supposed to be cavatappi but was instead made with ziti noodles for some reason and just tasted bland. The filet was not seasoned and they char grilled it and also did not use any peppercorn sauce as advertised. I have never been to any restaurant that burns a perfect piece of meat like that. The mashed potatoes tasted like they instant potatoes. The food was not great at all. We ordered a dessert to try and salvage the meal, crème brûlée, and of course they were out of berries. The dessert tasted like it was made days ago. They poured way too much sugar on top and just burned it. Again it was just not good. Overall the dinner was over 200$ and after tip we paid 250$. We told the manager/owner that the service was really good but the food was really awful and he gave us a thumbs up and walked away. We won't ever go back here and i cannot recommend anyone else try this place either. matthew lall

Out here on a work trip and had dinner at Sage. The cocktails were delicious! For app we were given bread and we ordered a cheese board. Our main course was really good. The staff was kind and attentive. The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing. I would recommend this place if you have the chance to enjoy dinner here.

Very friendly staff. They were short staffed like many restaurants but their service was excellent and the food was delicious!
