Shige's Saimin Stand - Wahiawā

Shige is a must on the island oahu. the position is removed in the middle of a strip. away from the busy streets of waikiki. we ordered the cheeseburger, two saimins and a bbq stick. everything was phenomenal! the exact taste I remembered 5 years ago. the patty of the burger melts in your mouth. I must say that the patty itself is better than the in and outs of the west coat and the shacks of the east. do not let the Honolulu traffic they get from coming to this point. they will thank me later: this place is a gem! Shige’s IS Wahiawa. You cannot visit Wahiawa and not get something to eat here. I could have done a review on this place a loooong time ago but i keep chowing down first before I remember to take pictures. I just can’t wait to dig in!!! Been eating here since 2001 and i eat pretty much the same thing. Either a BBQ cheeseburger with Fried Saimin or BBQ sticks with Fried Saimin. Always. The BBQ cheese burger is homemade, on a nice buttery bun with mayo and a sweet sauce. Comes with lettuce but i kicked mine out. To me, personally, The Best BBQ cheese burger on island. Its perfect in every way. Same with the fried Saimin. The Taste is spot on. Noodles are perfect. Best on island. My husband loves them too but also the homemade hamburger steak with onions, two scoops rice, mac salad and gravy ALL over. Great Family owned with friendly, hardworking staff too. Food is always hot, order has never been wrong. No mistakes EVER since 2001! This place is already super famous but if you haven’t been here yet, definitely stop by. You won’t be disappointed. Come support this long time iconic Wahiawa establishment.

Great saimin I think it is homemade noodles, looks like okinawan style. Garnished with charsiu, ham, fried egg, kamaboko (fish cake), green onion! BBQ beef stick was tender and tasty! I’m looking forward to trying the Teri beef plate and other plate lunches. Service was very courteous and friendly. Very clean and comfortable diner style place in Wahiawa. Dine in or take out available.

This is the best Saimin ever!!! Noodles are bouncy and chewy made fresh every morning. Broth has a lot of depth and it all goes so well with hot mustard and a cheeseburger. And the service is super friendly and kind. They offer lots of things on the menu, so I will be back for more!

Best place to always eat been coming here for years so family oriented and friendly you won’t regret eating here food is always delicious as well served and made fresh daily.
