フィードバックを提供するWe stopped for lunch on our way back from Campbell River. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant had a cool saloon with an interesting story. I had a beer, my wife had a glass of wine, and we shared the lunch special burger. The total bill came to $39.28 before the drinks, with an additional $2.00 fee for splitting the meal in half. While the burger was average and the fries were well-made, we found the overall experience to be quite expensive. Unfortunately, we do not plan to visit this restaurant again.
Our group of beer lovers visited The Highwayman and were pleased with the food, service, and beer selection. Our waitress was new but did a great job. The view of the Georgia road was amazing from the salon and bar, which has been around since 1924 after the original building burned down in 1922. The meals were generous and mostly homemade. The restaurant used to be a biker bar, and the decor reflects this history. Overall, The Highwayman offers good food, drinks, service, portions, atmosphere, and location. It is a great place to stop on the way or make it your destination.
This restaurant is a historic gem that is definitely worth a visit. It is a cozy community pub that always seems bustling whenever we pass by. It's no surprise that this spot is popular among the motorbike crowd. The service is fantastic, and the food and drinks are top-notch. The portion sizes are quite generous, so sharing plates is advisable unless you have a huge appetite.
Friendly service and good eating, will try again other menu items, the salon is a very unique bar and restaurant with excellent visibility and easy access
I arrived around 3:15 The server came over in fair time to ask my drink order. She never asked if more people would be joining. I was quick, said I wanted to try a small order of Oysters. She said they had two sizes the...4 pcs or larger dinner but it came with sides. I said again I just want something small to sample so the smaller would be fine with Strongbow please. The food and drink arrived in fair time. The atmosphere and decor gave effort to be Biker-ish. Paintings of a biker theme and some models and Bike Tank Christmas decorations framed above the bar. Pleasing but not worth making a special trip to experience or see. I became disappointed when I noticed I was smack in the middle of Happy Hour. The server knew I was looking for a small order of Oysters as I was traveling and looking for local food specifically oysters. The 4 oysters were $11.95 while the Happy Hour Oysters were 3 for $7.50. I did point out to her this and she just shrugged her shoulders. I said “I am very disappointed” No comment from her. I am a Biker and travel on the Island often doing the Sunshine Cost Circle, The Port Alberni Toy Run and Scoots out to Tofino. I will not be returning to the Highway Man and I will share my experience with my people.
