The banter with our server was both witty and lovely, and the food was delicious to say the least! I felt as if I had been transported away for an evening to the Cinque Terre. Could not recommend this restaurant any more. If you are debating on dessert, the deconstructed tarte au citron is a must. Can't wait to come back again :
Amazing food, great service and beautiful location! Lovely place to eat in Comox, definitely recommend!
Overall the food was OK, nothing special, we ordered 4 plates of different dishes and they all were just spaghetti (there's Fettuccine, Penne etc. . Usually Italian restaurants have variety of pizza, desserts (like Teramisu .. The service was goodalthough the restaurant was very busy.
Been to better Italian/Mediteranean restaurants. We had made a reservation, but little care was taken in giving us a decent seating. The restaurant was less than half full, but were still given a seat staring into the kitchen. In some cases this might be okay, but in this case it was not. You could see the chaos that ensued. I just had two appetizers which were passable (though the garlic shrimp were rather minimal! . My husband had a pasta entree which was a disaster. Obviously, the cook had never heard of 'al dente ', the pasta was more along the lines of 'mush. ' And arrabbiata with sausage should have some spiciness to it; this was sadly lacking! We put the problems with Toscana down to the fact is that it seems to be run by inexperienced young people.
The food was a mixed bag. The spicy lamb meatballs were fantastic. My wife loved her beet salad and pasta. I thought my pasta dish was pedestrian. Desert was supposed to be a chocolate mousse, however it tasted like a thick chocolate pudding. Atmosphere wasn't great and the noisy diners were so loud I couldn't carry on a conversation. The service was excellent so I bumped up their rating.
