We had an incredibly large party 12+ and we received excellent service! The atmosphere was classy but accessible, we saw many families with children. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Every bite was delicious but the Brussels were outstanding! I also strongly recommend the fried green tomatoes and the fried zucchini appetizers. The zucchini was some of the best I have ever tasted. Other 's in my group had complaints about their porkchop dinners including that there weren 't enough apples on the chop and that the mac and cheese lacked cheese flavor. I saw many bowls of mac and cheese left uneaten and as one of my party said, I 've never met a Mac and cheese I didn 't eat until today. So, while my entire experience was 5 star, I think it is worth mentioning that others were not as impressed. I will be back but I will continue to avoid the macaroni. Kid-friendliness: There were children there, and I saw booster seats available.
This hotel was overpriced for our middle of the week stay. The mattress was terrible and the tv didn’t work. The spa service was overpriced and underwhelming. My husband and i waited over an hour for our food and the food was mediocre. The hot tub was nice, but there were too many kids jumping in and splashing to enjoy.
First impressions of the restaurant is that it looked really expensive, prices reflected that as well. Servers were pretty good and fairly accommodating. But here's why the review is a low as it was. We got the food wow, what a letdown. Smothered chicken was supposed to be in a mushroom and bacon sauce. Well, it came with half of a mushroom and half slice of bacon. Very very disappointing. The restaurant is being boosted by reviews from 2+ years ago. Maybe 2+ years ago they were 4-5 stars, but now it's 1 or 2 at best. Would NOT recommend.
I asked my 13-year-old daughter to find a non-chain restaurant for us to eat at in Sulphur, and she chose The Springs. We entered from the second-floor sidewalk, which felt more like a back entrance, since the main entrance is connected to the hotel. Once we got our bearings, the host seated us in a cozy booth. My daughter shyly admitted she didn’t realize it was such an upscale place. I told her to keep the meal under $20, and there were several options in that price range. She ordered the tilapia ($20.00) with asparagus, while I went for the catfish ($15.00). After spending a day working in the heat, the cold water they served was refreshing and delicious. The food was outstanding overall. If you find yourself in Sulphur, I highly recommend this restaurant. Just a note: the fried peaches could have used a bit less cinnamon.
