Restaurant Croix d'Or - Sierentz

Very lively restaurant connected to hotel with the same name. We enjoyed an excellent food that was well presented. Service was impeccable, but not intrusive.

Good welcome even arrival in late night, local family food well prepared and good service. A place to comeback with friends!

Maybe it was because we showed up at 1:30 in the afternoon, but four travelers from Canada had a very bad experience. Sa in the dining room and two of us ordered a 1/2 liter white wine and received two very small glasses...Wein (the glasses didn't fit the bar...? The other two foamed water ordered and received a small bottle of still water. That could have been fixed, but the server never came back? Food ordered were two Gold Cross Burger and Bruschetta and a salad. The salad was by far the best choice. Let's burgers on the first delivery it looked spectacular, two paving cargo of cheese was big and proud, but, impossible, pick up and eat so knives and fork it is. This was the worst meat in a burger I ever had, it was so over boiled, hard (yes hard ground meat and badly flavored I only ate a single sheet and leave the rest. Server no show for quality control again. French fries were hot and tasty, but we Canadians like ketchup with fries or at least Mayo, but again servers are not found. To be fair, the young lady who delivered the food was very pleasant and spoke with us for a bit, laughing at our Canadian accents. Bruschetta... just weird, but a lot of ham so bad. We had to sew to the bar to get our bill, and at this point we asked to share it... Server divided it into half, I can simple mathematics. We then asked them to share the bill on what each pair had, they did this with ease, but still no smile. Again, I don't know what went wrong here because we really wanted to like this place. Oh, you'll ask me after the bread...

Experienced, busy restaurant where booking is recommended. Fresh seasonal food well cooked. Staff polite and helpful. Appropriate prices. Will definitely return!

This restaurant never disappoints. It's always busy for a reason, it's really good. Food quality is excellent, enough menu variety without distraction, salad and bread and accompaniments standard and top-ups offered. Not just frites with everything either, spaetzle, boiled potatoes, rice always an option, prices...really reasonable staff look happy and it makes for a good ambiance, they are attentive without being intrusive, nobody avoiding eye contact here! Already early March we needed to book, phoned at 18.15 and got the last table Busy and always a buzz, can't recommend highly enough as you may guess, just thought it was time to note it
