Early Birds Coffee Shop

I'm giving a rating of 3 rather than 2 in the hope that we just happened to visit on a bad day. We arrived at approx 8:30am on a Monday. As we had a group of 10, we needed to spread out over 3 tables. The young lady who took our order had a look of sheer boredom / utter annoyance on her face the entire time we were there. The male staff member made several subtly rude remarks while delivering our food. (I wasn't sure if he was attempting - unsuccessfully- to be humorous or was just being passive aggressive!) I found the behaviour of both staff members very off putting, but I hope it was just a bad case of Mondayitis rather than their usual customer service. The main saving grace was the good food and delicious freshly squeezed juice. I won't be visiting this place again to see if the service improves, which is a shame because their juice is awesome!

Twice we went to eat at this place and it was closed. Its called Early Birds but it was shut. They advertised breakfast and we thought we'd give it a go because we had to leave early next day, but they were closed.

Great service and nice open air cafe. Had a hangover cure and partner vegetarian with a rash of bacon. The servings were large and hard to finish off. Savoury mince delishes. Meals served with toast and real butter. Will be back.

It's worth a look just to see the beautiful tables made from a single slab of wood. Even the outdoor bench tables have been varnished to a supershine. The coffee is very average although one of the folks beside us claimed it was the best in the bay. His was a latte, not an Expresso. Their "Special" was Apple Pie. ice cream & Coffee for $10. It was disappointing to get a quarter of a straight supermarket pie with a blob of ice cream on the side. Their WiFi was free and that was the bonus

Savory mince on toast! Not on menus enough these days. My partners hangover cure (big breakfast) had some as well. Fast, efficient and friendly service and good food.
