Calico Cat Tea House - Nanaimo

My partner surprised me with a tea leaf reading and lunch, and all I can say is wow! The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the food can be made gluten free, which was so delicious. We had our tea leaves read by Amanda Rae, who was able to say things that hit close to home and I was very impressed. Thank you for such a wonderful afternoon!

I absolutely loved this place. During my visit from Vancouver, a friend took me for a tea leaf reading which was fantastic. The high tea was also amazing. The old home was quaint and beautifully decorated. I can't wait to visit again from Vancouver.

What a unique experience and even though I went in the middle of the pandemic, I was very impressed with the precautions taken. I felt safe the entire time. Even with the precautions in place you felt like you were having an intimate talk While having the tea leaves red. So casual and relaxed and she spent a long time with us. You feel like you've stepped back into another time. I instantly felt like I was transported to my childhood in my great-grandmother's house, surrounded by antiques and fascinating memorabilia. The tea leaf reading itself was quite something. Being a skeptic, I went in more for entertainment and to try it but I was quite surprised at the accuracy and detail she was able to go into. She nailed it. We were served a lovely tea with fresh fruit, finger sandwiches and tasty desserts. I will definitely be a return customer.

OMGGG so cute!! This restaurant has an antique cottagecore vibe that is unfortunately hidden, but I wish it was more popular. I shared the 3 tier platter with my mother and it was lovely. The mini sandwiches were delicious and the scones were freshly baked. The desserts and fruit were also delicious. We didn't know about the tea readings or the friendly ghost, but we will definitely check them out next time. It's such a beautiful hidden gem that deserves more recognition <3

From the moment you are greeted at the door, Calico Cat is an experience you won't forget. I enjoyed the BEST carrot cake (gluten free too! Generous slice with loads of creamcheese icing and oh so moist! I had my tea leaves read by Heather Wow! Highly recommend you won't be disappointed.
