Hoss's Steak Sea House - Murrysville

Steak with 2 sides for less than some places charge for a burger without fries. We enjoyed our dinner, come on Monday for the stuffed green pepper soup.

I ordered the 14oz steak and shrimp special and my gf had the stuffed chicken breast. . I ordered it medium rare. When I cut into it it was about a rare as you can get. It also was full of gristle. There really wasn't any point in sending it back to cook it to proper temp. The salad bar was ok. She said her chicken was dry. I didn't tell the server about it because I really don't like complaining and she was very nice and attentive to everything else. I had looked forward to eating here for awhile but I don't think I'm going to be back anytime soon.

We really had a great time.. Salad bar , soup bar and dessert bar is outstanding.. Food was great, our waitress was friendly, management was friendly. Very clean place.

Hoss' was a very center of the road experience with mostly good trains, but nothing overwhelming. The leading actress I chose was the 1 2lb Burger. It has 2 patties pressed flattop style. While it was so juicy and the taste was good, the sailor was too long to chew the outside hard and difficult. This came with broken onion rings that were perfectly cooked. I decided not to order Steak because I felt the price for the crowd was off and I knew I could get a better cut for less elsewhere. The salad bar was well filled, and although the items were sometimes located in non-ideal places, they were fresh and good. Unfortunately, the overall atmosphere is very tired. The ranch rustic style is fine, but this is just from the 80s and in desperate need of an update, this includes the bathroom. To be clear, the restaurant was very clean and well maintained, simply outdated. Our son loved it here, and if you have children who long dessert bars and chicken benches, you will. Overall, if you need large portions and fast but solid service, this could be the place for you. If atmosphere and excellent quality are however your preference, you can want to pass on.

It was a delicious and relaxing experience. We got lots of good food for a decent price. We were seated in a booth as we had asked. The waitress was attentive and very kind. Even after we had finished our main course and decided to linger a bit to chat and relax after so much food. She was gracious and suggested ice cream as a good meal finisher. The bathrooms needed new toilet paper and paper towels, but we did come just after dinner rush. The utensils at the salad bar were a a little sticky/messy. In hindsight we should have used the gloves that were offered at the end of each salad station. Overall, we were quite satisfied and would have no problem going back.
