I'm happy to say it's even better than the article made it sound! These bowls are simple — you choose your own meat, choose between lettuce and cabbage, get a great helping of rice and excellent noodles to go along with it, and pick your own level of spice on a scale of 1-10, from a sweet style of sauce on the lower end and a hot habanero closer to 10. I went with a spicy pork and lettuce combo with a Level 8 of sauce spice. As someone with a pretty advanced spice tolerance, the Level 8 was a perfect level for me with a great kick without sacrificing flavor on the altar of heat. I might give Level 10 a try to get my picture on the Wall of Fame! The staff is incredibly friendly as well. They were extremely kind to a first timer and offered great recommendations as we went through the line. The food is great, but the service might have been even greater. I was really impressed. It's easy to order, efficient to go through the line, and incredibly filling without being an uncomfortable amount of food. You might even have enough of your bowl left for leftovers later, so it's a fantastic value. I rarely feel strongly enough about the restaurants I visit to leave reviews like this, but Cupbop left a really fantastic impression and I hope they continue to grow in local popularity. I can't wait to go back again and again!
I have been twice now, and love it! I have decided I like the noodles better than the rice, so I just do noodles and chicken and pork combo at a level 3. And the Mandoo is amazing! Love the sweetness of the noodles (never heard of a sweet potato noodle before! So good! and the added spice from the meat and sauce. It’s the perfect sweet/spicy combo....my fave! The staff is all very friendly and seem like they enjoy being there, which says a lot! I will definitely be a regular customer!
FINALLY after waiting a week and and a half my friend, brother and I got to try this place. So, they are super full of energy and very fun to talk with. They even gave us a free sample of the 10 sauce to try..btw very very spicy but it's flavor is amazing. I had the 8 myself with pork. The rice was sweet which was nice to counter that heat. The heat was hot but a good hot defiantly my go to spot when I go to meridian! Thanks guys. I will be back -Bob Ross Shirt
I've never had Korean BBQ my entire life until i came across CupBop when they had their food truck downtown off 5th and State. Now I can't get enough of Cupbop! The whole thing is delicious from the noodles to the rice and cabbage to the sauce and spices! And the mandoo I can never get enough of!
I stopped by Cupbop for a late lunch/early dinner. I was not disappointed, it was delicious!!! I asked for sweet, no heat this time but I will definitely ask for some heat next time. The portion was perfect and everything tasted wonderful! I will be back again!
