Meh…nothing in the village or anywhere in the Boise/Meridian metro worth the money restaurants charge I spent here. I would’ve been far better off at Dave’s hot chicken…”Fancy restaurants” in the area are not even close to being worth the fancy prices. And owners expect people like me to subsidize servers wages with big tips because of Idaho is near the bottom of the national minimum wage. I didn’t even have any alcohol yet the bill was near $50 for just the meal no extras. The state of Idaho believes people that handle and serve your food should NOT be guaranteed a living wage apparently. Disgusting.
A modern look to a wine bar, very nice. It is located on the inside of the public square providing you a view of who is who as well as a ring side view of the musically synced water fountains. The wine dispensers are high tech, allowing you to graze among a global offering of unique wines. Check in, load up a pay card and take your time selecting the wine you want. You can select 3 different amounts. Our waiter Marcus was very helpful, he had in-depth knowledge of each grape type and general comments on the flavors and vintners. We sipped and people watched for a time. A relaxing venue for those who are not in a hurry. I recommend a visit.
Not a good experience. Scallions were gritty. Need to clean them better. Service was slow bartender never checked on us. I ordered a vodka sour and the glass was only 1/3 full.I had to govto the bar to get my check. Way to expensive for what you got. We will not be going back.Food: 2/5
We had the great pleasure of dining at Bodovino Ristorante today. We were walking through the Village at Meridian looking for a restaurant and was very happy we found Bodovino. When we arrived we felt lucky that there was a table open. It's located in the courtyard area situated next to the The Fountains at the Village. It's enclosed in walls of glass so you can see everything that is going on in the courtyard which was nice. Just outside the entrance there is lounge seating around a fireplace to enjoy after you wine and dine. We were greeted quickly and seated, and Britt was our server and he was great. The service was excellent. The food was excellent. For starters we enjoyed the Spicy Sambal Brussels and the Calamari. The Brussel Sprouts were very good cooked perfectly and hints of bacon. The Calamari had a light crusted batter coating that was crispy over a very tender and delicious calamari rings tentacles and a light aioli dipping sauce. For our entrees we had the Shrimp Scampi and the Lasagna. The Shrimp Scampi had nice sized shrimp bedded over a very perfectly cooked al dente linguini doused with a delicious garlic butter sauce making the meal light and not greasy. The lasagna was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth with the flavors of the sauce and different types of meat with several layers filled with ricotta cheese. There was so much on the menu that this place screams to come back and try their other entrees. Dining here was near to an experience. The reason for that is you can purchase a Bodovino Supercard and serve yourself to a large selection of wines. Britt loaded up our card and was great to walk around with us and told us how it works and about some of the wines we were interested in trying. When you find what you like simply choose from three different pours tasting pour, 3 oz or a very generous pour. We tried the La Terre Chardonnay, Vale Chardonnay, Raeburn Chardonnay, and the Albe Barolo all were very good. So it was like a wine tasting experience. They have a full bar and we tried the Espresso Martini which was very good but I would recommend to have it as a dessert and not before the meal. We have a balance on our Bodovino card so we will be back for sure.
