Can’t say enuf good words about the lodge or the very nice owner, Linda. Food was high quality, fresh, and perfectly prepared. Price was fair. Service prompt and friendly. The cafe was clean and homey. The bar looked like a cool place to hang out for a lazy afternoon. Will we go back? Oh yeah!
Rufus hooked up a tired bicycle tourist with a meal after a long day's ride. Cafe was closed, but there were some tasty and cheap options at the bar. Thank you!
Stumbled upon this little lodge after visiting McCloud Waterfalls along Highway 89. The place was empty late in the afternoon, and reminded me of a small town diner you'd likely find in the Midwest (actually reminded me a little of Lou's Coffee Shop from Fargo! . The diner is connected to a dive bar w/ pool tables, also empty in the middle of the day. The pleasant owner, and I'm assuming cook, was friendly and the service was fantastic. We had a tuna melt and turkey melt with fries, everything was home-cooked and prices were very reasonable. We left Bartle with full bellies and smiles, as we continued on our Northern Cali road trip adventure to Burney Falls.
Linda is a very friendly, loving owner cook who makes a great tasting potato pancake. I go every Sunday that I'm in the area. Usually about 15 times a year.
