Much better find than expected. Tip. Make sure to call for reservations. They have limited seating and staff due to COVID-19 so they may not be able to accommodate otherwise. Beautiful setting right off of the interstate overlooking farmland. Chris, the owner, is awesome. He made us feel right at home and as if we had been neighbors for years. The food was extremely well prepared and plentiful. Pair that with a good bottle of wine and you have yourself a nice dinner!

My husband and I stopped here while traveling up 81. We were delighted to sit outside on a sunny fall day and get a break from the car. Was so glad we opted for this place over a chain restaurant which is usually what we go with when traveling. We had the Brie, chicken salad wraps, kale salad and tomato soup. Everything was tasty and fresh but not over salted like a lot of restaurant food is. We will definitely stop here again while traveling.

Well what a delightful surprise. Just traveling through from Florida to upstate New York. Half way point Fort Chiswell. Never heard of this place but decided to take the western route this time to bypass route 95. Stayed at the Hampton, asked where we could get something to eat. Receptionist rattled off some fast food places which we were frankly very tied of. Lastly mention the Fort Chiswell Mansion (Key Ingredients). Very old pre civil war plantation. Service was excellent. Food was outstanding. Loved this place. Price was resonable. Will stop again on next drive through. Go there you will like it. Very unique place. PS: don't trust your GPS.

Unexpected jewel right off I-81. We had the steak sandwich and the chicken salad sandwich. Both were great. Sat on the porch and enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and scenery. This will be a regular stop when coming through the area.
