フィードバックを提供するToday was my 4th wedding anniversary, and my husband and I decided to try out Red Door in Lakeland for dinner. I had heard good things about it years ago and the menu seemed interesting. I was looking forward to the diverse menu but was disappointed with my meal. We started with the bread and infused butter appetizer, which was just okay. The bread was almost burnt and the infused butter was unimpressive, but it satisfied our hunger. We also tried the El Lucha-door tequila cocktail, but it tasted like watered-down tequila with no other flavors. Onto the main courses, my husband's Pan-Seared Scallops were fantastic. The scallops were cooked perfectly, and the sides were flavorful, although the portions were a bit small. However, my Crispy Pork Belly was a disappointment. It was tough and overly fried, with minimal toppings that lacked any real flavor. I even had to spit it out into a napkin. I informed our waitress, who promptly removed the dish from the bill and offered us a complimentary dessert, which we declined. The manager did not personally address the issue, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, my food experience was poor, while my husband enjoyed his meal. I may consider returning in the future, but I would not order the pork belly or tequila cocktail again. I hope that if there is another issue, the manager will address it directly. The overall rating for our experience was 5 out of 10.
I went to this restaurant with a friend and our experience was disappointing. We waited for over an hour for our food and the drinks were watered down. The meat I was served tasted sour, but when I mentioned it to the waiter, he claimed it was the sour cream causing the taste. However, sour cream should not leave a bad flavor in your mouth. The only positive aspect of our visit was the friendly and informed waitress, Kathrine, who was very enthusiastic and helpful with choosing wines.
A group of 6 people arrived at the restaurant around 11:45 and found it empty. The food was not worth the price, with the chicken being burnt and everything fried tasting overcooked. It seems like the oil needs to be changed. The buns were extremely stale, as if they were old. Overall, it was a terrible experience.
This was my second time having lunch here. Let’s get the bad stuff out of the way first. It’s very pricey for lunch. Definitely not your typical place to grab lunch. Our lunch for 4 was over $170. Now let’s move on to the good stuff. The food is amazing! Everything we ordered was perfect. The deviled eggs are wonderful. The bread and butter is a must. The house made gnocchi was out of this world amazing! The basil infused crème brûlée was a little odd at first bite but definitely worth a try as it finished our lunch up very perfectly.
The service was excellent and the restaurant had a wonderful ambience. Unfortunately, the food was very hit or miss. All of the appetizers were delicious but some of the entrees fell flat. It's worth a try but I suggest asking a lot of questions about the dishes preparation. My friend was very disappointed with her duck dish. It was basically a few pieces of shredded duck on a salad. It wasn't what she expected at all.
