フィードバックを提供するI loved this place certainly up to the Trip Advisor reviews I would be back in a heartbeat best tofu dish I have ever eaten to present something I have never seen before. Everything was just so good!
One of the better chain izakaya joints specifically revolving around negi dishes. The place had a chill ambience. It was a bit crowded but we still got seats, lot of counter seats and tables stretched through this place. The waiters were a bit hasty taking our orders and serving but they were quick to help and nothing short. The food came out super quick and we ordered a lot of stuff since the menu had few unique negi dishes. Tried the negi wrapped in bacon was unique for me and was amazing, asparagus wrapped in bacon was also delicious. The sashimi was fresh and the deep fried negi was another different touch to trying negi (was not bad, tasted like tempura). They had a good selection of Nihonshu and the waiter though hasty was polite enough to explain the types of nihonshu. The prices were decent and not too expensive around 4000 yen/2 people for two flasks of nihonshu and huge bunch of food. Would definitely try out the other locations in Tokyo/Kanagawa as well!
Onegiya features Leeks incorporated in dishes. Look for the tiny door within a door. My husband has been in Hiroshima for business for months, and gone to restaurants his local co-workers suggest. I found this on TripAdvisor, based on good reviews and a unique menu specializing in leeks. We enjoyed this as a little date restaurant on my visit, and he now has a unique place to recommend to the locals. One of our favoring dining experiences in Japan. A note on the cover charge, this appears to be customary in many of the restaurants we visited in 2 weeks throughout Japan, and is accompanied by a complimentary appetizer, so I did not find that to be off-putting, just an unaccustomed practice.
This restaurant experience was a mixed bag. The food was decent, some of it even tasted really good. The drinks howevere were nothing special and I am annoyed that they charge you about 500 yen just to sit down. Why would they do that in a restaurant. I can understand it in a smaller bar, but this is just ridiculous. Some of the food were lacking a bit of seasoning, but all in all we thought the meal was ok. Would not come back though.
The food was correct, but the people and atmosphere were really unpleasant (which is very rare in Japan)! On top of that, they charged us 450¥/persons for the sitting, which is apparently only valable for foreigners. I definitely don’t recommend this place.
