Katalina's Island Grill - Hayward

When I entered the restaurant, I noticed it was completely empty, which made me a bit skeptical at first. However, I have to say the food was exceptional! As someone who grew up in the Moana Loa area of Oahu, I haven't enjoyed authentic Samoan, Tongan, and Hawaiian cuisine in quite a while. The service was fantastic, characterized by genuine Island hospitality and warm smiles. If you're yearning for delicious Island food, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant—it's the real deal!

Poly Food Recommendations: I suggest trying the kale moa or sipi, as well as the sapa sui. The poly-style sipi tunu, which consists of baked or fried lamb shoulder pieces, is also worth a taste. Areas for Improvement: The otai, Ota, and Lu dishes are just average. The ambiance tends to make me lose my appetite when dining here. Hours of Operation: Opening at 11 AM should mean 11 AM, not whenever you feel like it—this island-time approach feels unprofessional. I recommend checking out your competitors to see how they operate and improve your own offerings. You could really stand out as a great poly kitchen in this area. The vibe here is comfortable, reminiscent of grandma's kitchen. Plus, I know you have family in construction who could help make the place more inviting. Best of luck!

Me and my wife visited cali from Florida we really wanted some island foodWe thought this place would be niceThe lady seems okayHowever she charged us 98$ for 2 plates 2 otai and 1 LuHere’s me thinking it can’t be that’s to over Priced but she carried on with the payment processing itI recommend not going to this place to eat they will rip you off big time

Delicious food, softest taro I've ever had I hope they don't change it. Luau is very good, not salty just right. Sorry I didn't take pics of my food I ate it all so fast ? they price flat rate for the plates and it was PACKED!!! We'll be coming by again soon!
