Rare Steakhouse - Greshamville

We were taking my sister and bro-in-law for their 40th anniversary. We chose rare because we have had good experiences. But not last night. Do not let them put you in the library! It was so dark we could barely see each other and even though we asked our server to fix it and she tried twice management obviously didn't agree. We had a bottle of wine that was over chilled and never warmed to release flavor. They never offered to decant. We were told they decreased the wine storage and it has been a problem since. So unless you like cab sav cold do not order a bottle. In full transparency when I said the wine never warmed up (the sommelier never came back to inquire even though he knew I was concerned) they comped the wine. The wrong steak was sliced and yes it could have been sent back but by then the rest of us would nearly be finished. So it was not the night we expected. The service was good. I do know any place can have an off night but there was a lot “off” last night.

Excellent steak house. Should be much better rated. Everything is exceptional here.

We booked our table early. Waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. They gave us 2 glasses of complimentary champagne to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Steak was OK but not the way I ordered it. I chose not to send it back and just give the waiter feedback. He was nice but defensive. For the price we paid I would not go back.

When I buy a 102 porterhouse steak I would like to cut it myself . I honestly don’t know if it was just a t-bone bone and whatever meat the added to the plate . My recommendation is to go to your local hibachi if you want little strips of meat .
