Kouklas BYO Cafe - Gravelly Beach

The food was delicious, the service was great, and the value was excellent. What a fantastic idea!

Lovely atmosphere and a great selection on the menu. We tried the homemade curry scallop cake and it was incredibly tasty.

It’s a gorgeous cafe in a great location with friendly staff….but. It appears to be the victim of its own success. We made a special detour trip to visit on a recommendation, and there was very little left of anything at lunchtime (1pm) on a Saturday. Every pie bar one kind had gone, even though we would have been happy with a number of choices. The one that wasn’t sold out was a vegetable pie that wasn’t disclosed as ‘curried’, which unfortunately won’t suit some dietary needs. So if it’s a scallop pie or a crispy skin duck pie you’re after, I’d suggest breakfast.
