Love this place. Owner friendly and accommodating. Also excellent cook
Friendly service and interesting food options, including gluten free rolls. A great place to linger over a meal and enjoy a view of the water.
We luckily stumbled upon this place while passing through the tiny town of Damariscotta. The restaurant is located in the back of an old church building, facing the water so it’s not easy to spot initially. There are rustic picnic tables out back and a lovely view. I had the vegan Ruben sandwich and an amazing maple cream soda. My daughter ordered the vegan meatloaf. Everything was absolutely fresh delicious and the service was quick and friendly. We met the owner, Grace, working in the small kitchen, turning out every dish with care. Definitely worth a visit, and every penny. PS We happened to be sitting right next to the guy who left the one star review and he ate (and seemingly enjoyed! every bite.
On Saturday, May 15, 2021, a friend, his dog, and I enjoyed lunch at Savory Maine Dining and Provisions in Damariscotta, Maine. We sat outside with a beautiful view of the water. The owner personally served us, and we were impressed by how well our meals were prepared; they were absolutely delicious. Despite our food allergies, she handled our requests with ease. I had an 8 oz bowl of rich fish chowder accompanied by a gluten-free biscuit that was perfectly textured, tasty, and just the right size to crumble into my chowder. My friend ordered a simple salad with greens, chicken sausage, and polenta, which was beautifully presented and exceptionally flavorful. For dessert, I indulged in maple syrup-infused flan—light, delicate, and savory—along with a cup of Yogi ginger tea. The owner graciously provided a bowl of water for my friend's dog upon our arrival, who happily relaxed and chewed on her bone. Inside the restaurant, the owner showcased an art display and hosted a silent auction featuring works by local artist Polly Steadman, with all proceeds benefiting Apifera Farm, a nonprofit dedicated to the adoption of elderly and special needs animals based in Bremen, Maine. Our total bill for lunch came to $44, which included a generous tip.
