Carlos Mexican Grill 3 - Crystal Lake

Chilo's Mexican Grill was recommended by a friend so decided to try. Not to happy with my 1st time there. Service was so so. Server/ waitress took forever to take our food order but she was very nice and for the most part all of the servers/ waitresses seemed friendly. Ordered the tampiqueña with skirt steak and enchiladas. They were more like entomatadas, rice had too much garlic and beans tasted like they came from a can. The skirt steak was very tender and the portions were good for the price. I ordered a Mango margarita it just tasted like a frozen orange drink not mango. I will give it a chance and maybe try something different before I decide not to go back.

Fantastic local restaurant. Friendly staff and great service. Food was delicious! It was clear they care about giving thier customers an amazing dining experience. I can't wait to go back.

I really liked this place. ALWAYS on the hunt for great authentic food.I had enchiladas, mole and rancheras, both were delicious. They have a bar and plenty of seating. It was clean, the staff were helpful and polite.I'll be going back for late night tacos soon!!(Oh yeah, they are open late too!!!!

We were there today with the kids. The food was exceptional. It can be only compared to the food we had in Cancun last year. The service was great and our server Yaneth was very present and professional. Cannot wait to go back to this place again in few weeks as we live several hours away.
