Normally, I wouldn't make the trip from Napa to Castro Valley for a sandwich, but when Pasquale mentioned this deli, I couldn't resist! It's truly the best in the East Bay, specifically Castro Valley. I also wanted to hear about his experience at the Grand Nationals and how he managed to save Twiller Bunkinstick from being trampled by a bull. The sandwiches at European Market Deli were absolutely delicious - I give them 5 stars all the way.
I love this restaurant for its delicious food and appetizers!
They sell outdated items here. Beware! I paid $5.00 for something that was already expired and tasted bad when I tried it at home. If you're looking to eat overpriced and expired food, then this is the place for you.
I love the Hong Kong BBQ roasted duck wonton noodle soup. It is the best in taste and quality. We always make sure to stop by whenever we are in the neighborhood.
My recent experience at this restaurant was not great. I am not referring to the food being subpar, but rather the very poor customer service. Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess (a senior blonde lady) gave me a disapproving look as if I did not belong there. When I inquired about a whole Napoleon cake, the blonde woman insinuated that it would probably be too expensive for me. I am well aware of the cost, having purchased the same cake twice before. As a loyal customer who travels from another city to buy Russian food at this establishment, I did not appreciate being judged based on my spending ability. I would like to request the owner of the restaurant to address the senior lady's attitude and remind her to treat all customers with respect, as they are the ones who ultimately pay her salary. Fortunately, there are other similar restaurants where I can dine, and if the same level of service is provided in the future, I will not hesitate to take my business elsewhere. I do want to express gratitude towards another young lady (the cashier) who was very friendly and helpful on this particular day, despite the inconvenience caused by the senior lady.
