Not the kind of service we are used to and I definitely had to ask my wife if she thought the kid working was stoned after we left. Our kidsdid enjoy the shaved ice on a positive note
We were excited to finally enjoy a shaved ice but when we got to the shop it was closed. The signs on the business said their hours and we arrived during business hours. Unfortunately they were closed. Maybe you could update your information for therest of the people so they don't drive out to you.
A great variety of flavors, perfect for a hot day! The shaved ice also holds its shape really well.
Not Hawaiian Shave Ice. As a Native Hawaiian living in Idaho, it's disheartening to witness the appropriation of my culture by those looking to profit from concentrated syrups, snow cones in styrofoam cups, and plastic spoons, all while misleadingly labeling them as "shaved ice." While it may be a pleasant place to cool off, calling it "Hawaiian Shaved Ice" is misleading. In Hawaii, you won't find a blue tiki shack adorned with plastic grass and these types of products. We are strong advocates for eco-friendly, recyclable materials and genuine quality shaved ice. This establishment does a significant disservice to our culture and values. Having lived in Boise for 20 years, we expected much more from Hyde Park.
While the staff member was friendly, she didn’t appear to have a solid grasp of basic food safety hygiene. She wore the same gloves to write on our cups, process our payment, and handle the touchscreen, all while packing snow cones. Considering that the touchscreen was dirty and sticky—and that I touched it as well—the level of bacteria in the shaved ice must be quite concerning. The tables were also in poor condition. I won’t be returning here.
