フィードバックを提供するI believe that most of the problems we experienced were likely due to what appeared to be a staffing shortage. Our orders were incorrect, the drinks were inconsistent, and the burgers we ordered as "medium" came out very well done. While our server attempted to be friendly, they seemed rushed and distracted during our meal. I'm uncertain if I will return, especially since we spent a decent amount of money but didn't feel we received much in return. It was disappointing because I was genuinely looking forward to trying their food. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, but the presence of numerous flies really hindered any chance of relaxing there.
The experience felt quite impersonal. It's hard to understand how a waiter could receive a good tip when you're left to order for yourself, like you would for a delivery at home. It took an hour for just two meals to arrive. The only person who seemed to connect with us was the very friendly hostess, who apologized multiple times for the delays. I believe most people appreciate being acknowledged and prefer not to feel like they're doing homework when they go out to eat. I overheard others leaving expressing their disappointment, saying it was a poor experience. I may be old-fashioned, but having staff who smile, greet customers, and share their favorite dishes can make such a difference. Just a little interaction can mean a lot, especially for those who might rarely receive attention. I visited this restaurant only a month ago and had a wonderful experience, raving to others about how great it was. It felt like a complete package then.
I didn't try any BBQ, as I was focused on steak. The flavor of the Denver Filet was fantastic—nice size and thick, too. The food arrived quickly, but it was lukewarm, likely because it was served on cold plates. The wonderful staff greeted me within a minute and seated me promptly. They took my drink order right away, and the team worked well together. The fresh corn and zucchini were the vegetable sides, which I really appreciated, especially coming from Sussex County's farmland. A touch of parsley or a more creative presentation could elevate the dishes without any extra cost. The owner might want to explore some plating ideas online. Overall, it's a great little gem in a fantastic location.
Went for a late lunch. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. The owner was very nice and even donated to my son's tricky tray. My husband and I love to try different places and we will definitely be back. We had some drinks and appetizers and got dinner to go. The food was good even re-heated. I would come here again.
When me and my family went to the Double S Smokehouse, we did not know what to expect. What we ended up getting was some of the best BBQ we've had at some of the best prices. We consistently go with our family of 5 and always spend less then $160.00 . Every time we go we are treated as family even from the first time we walked in the door. Each waitress always asks about our day and how we are all doing, and tries to make a genuine connection to all of us. The atmosphere is extremely friendly and they are the only place since we've been in the U.S. to ask if my father is a Military Veteran, which was a surprise to us when we received a discount and made our family seem like more then just a number. but a truly cared for customer in the establishment. Thank you for providing not only some of the best service we've ever had in a restaurant, but some of the best food as well. Highly recommended to everyone.
