Cafe Pierrot - Sparta

I was disappointed with my experience. Im not from the area so I upon entering I thought the cafe was so cute. The baked good looked tasty and the decor was nice. I ordered to-go with some friends. My latte did not taste like there was any espresso at all. Just milk and flavoring. The soup I ordered was good but very thin for a soup that is typically creamy. My friends also had some concerns with their food/drinks. Their sandwiches were dry and again their drinks were made extremely milky and lacking the coffee flavor. One friend asked to have her drink remade and said it was just too milky and instead of them just saying “oh sorry let me remake that for you” they said “well you asked for half and half” which she asked for a “splash” but either way you dont respond to customers like that. It was off putting and made her very uncomfortable with the confrontational response to her request. We did get our food quickly and we left and noticed there was no plastic utensils so my other friend went to ask for some, when she did, they responded “well there should be some in the bag” and she was again taken aback because why would you respond to someone coming back in asking for utensils in such a manner? So all in all, the coffee, food and customer service was not great. Wish it was a better experience. I used to like this place, has been going there for 3 years. I am writing this review just so the owner will maybe notice it and address the issues. Last few times I came the food was really bad. The quality of deserts went down too. I ordered simple avocado toast and got totally soaked piece of bread with super thin layer of avocado, 2 burned eggs and tomatoes, tasted terrible. I was also charged 5$ for steamed almond milk that came with my coffee. Brownie was stale and super hard. My husbands food was bad too. Overall just had a nasty feeling after eating it. Few times before the food was bad too, everything tastes old like it’s been sitting in the kitchen for days. I gave up on cafe Pierrot, I think they don’t care about the food they make just because there is no where else to go in Sparta and people just have no choice but go there. Had such a lovely experience. Staff is so kind and the food is very good! Defiantly coming back for Dinner!!!!!
