This is the only restaurant in our hotel where we stopped in our first night. they have a great view of the water from above. our server was very nice and very helpful. I have the cattle mocajet, my wife has the mignon, child. these were all great selections delicate bark cute and delicate tasteful garnel. my opinion was the best of the thunfischtar omg it was fantastic. beautiful delicate marinated tuna with peanuts and a very light sauce that does not exaggerate the thun-fish taste. I would get two orders from thunfisch next time, it was so good.
First the chef is from La Casa Qi Canta. The assistant chef trained at the Culinary Institute of America. Both incredible chefs. The food is local, fresh and delicious. You can also take a cooking class with these chefs and this includes a market tour...in Zi. After eating there once we continued to go back. The chips with avocado and salsa are great. All fish dishes are great. Actually everything we tried on the menu was wonderful.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the market tour and cooking class put on by Chef Antonio and dining manager Hubert, who run the Acopio Restaurant. They took us to the local Zi market, Mercado Municipal Campesino, and proceeded to educate us on the people...and food that are in the market. We sampled the fresh cheeses, tamales wrapped in corn husks, local fruit, and my favourite, chelate, a luscious chocolate drink. We also visited a nearby dry goods vendor, to buy Mexican chocolate, dried chilies, etc., and then another market area for coffee beans and Mexican vanilla extract and vanilla powder. At the same time, Antonio and Hubert were purchasing items for the cooking class. Each part of the cooking class meal was fabulous, from the salsa and guacamole that we made, to the tortillas, local vegetables, fish tartare, main course fish, and dessert. Antonio and Hubert are so knowledgeable, accommodating and fun, that we all had a great time. We highly recommend this outing.
We stayed at Embarc for a week and ate at Acopio almost every day for at least 1 meal...whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Sometimes, it was multiple meals. We found the service to be excellent and the food was well presented. One one occassion we returned some lemonade because of ants in the lemonade. The staff are bilingual and very attentive. The only downside is that the menu could use a little variety after a week. This is not to say that we did not enjoy ourselves....we did.
