Best Western Alpen Resort - Zermatt

Avec des amis, nous séjournions dans la Résidence Patricia, une dépendance de l'hôtel, et avons choisi de manger ici deux soirs de suite. Un très bon accueil, d'abord au bar pour l'apéro, puis dans la salle à manger chaleureuse et confortable. Nous avons bien mangé pour un prix très raisonnable, et attentivement servi par la serveuse Lena.

Zermatt and this hotel in particular seems to me a typical skiers resort and most of the people working there don't try too hard to be welcoming or even pleasant, the wait staff were arrogant and obtrusive, rather process another pea and put it in the can. They know they have a captive audience and don't have to try too hard.A particular irritation was this restaurant and paying for our dinner where we were given a voucher for 10% off, the only reason we ate there. Because I didn't present the voucher before ordering the meal (in small letters on the voucher and not mentioned either when I was given the voucher or before I ordered the meal) I was asked to pay the full price. I said that I hadn't noticed the 'before ordering' requirement and had to get a bit shirty and forcefully say: "just take the 10% off" before a revised bill appeared. That spoilt what was a relatively indifferent dining experience and would be completely avoidable if the staff were simply trained to ask customers if they had a voucher when accepting the order. Another example of there "where else can they go" syndrome. Not impressive for Best Western. Shan't go here again.

Örtliche und internationale Spezialitäten waren sehr lecker zubereitet. Der freundliche Service rundete den Eindruck ab. Auch die Pizzen - empfehlenswert!

Great restaurant. was busy but they set us in the bar area which was quiet. Food was excellent, had the shared steak.

Restaurang med olika kvällsteman. Mkt trevlig personal. God mat och god dryck, för vuxna och barn. Lättare underhållning på kvällen.
