Lighthorseman - York

We stopped for 2 nights 11th and 12th April. Bearing in mind it was built in Victorian times, we found the accommodation more than met our needs, immaculately clean, comfortable beds with an en suite bathroom. Ideally located as well, 10-15 walk into the City centre with bus stop located close by if you don't fancy the walk. The pub served a good pint and reminded me of the Grapes in Early Doors (meant as a compliment BTW) and the cooked breakfast was one of the best we've ever experienced. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We'll be stopping here again on our next visit to York.

We enjoyed a wonderful Italian meal at this very friendly York hotel restaurant. The prices for both food wine were very reasonable. The chef, Karem, was very helpful in choosing our courses, which were superbly cooked presented. We found all the staff very welcoming and attentive and we look forward to returning on our next visit to York.

We woud only stay for two nights, as quite noisy being woken by other guests at three in the morning. It wasn't made clear how we could have breakfast, so we opted to eat out on both ocassions

Great service in the current climate and restrictions, friendly staff and clean with good service definitely worth a visit if in York.

I visited here last night with my partner! My stay was in room 8, the room with the four poster bed. The room was lovely and clean, only downside about the room is no shampoo and conditioner and bathroom floor could do with a re vamp but the bedroom was lovely! The staff were nice and the breakfast was very good! Perfect place as a 10 min walk to york centre!
