I've been coming here regularly over the past few weeks with my boyfriend and family, and each time the food has been fantastic. Unfortunately, they’ve been out of both chicken and beef fajitas for about two months due to distribution issues. So for those giving this place a one-star rating because of that, come on—try their food and rate it based on that instead! Every business has its hiccups, so don't penalize them for your disappointment regarding a dish you’re used to. Their enchiladas are wonderful, and the soups are incredible too. The owners are very kind, and I want to give a special shoutout to Megan, who remembers everyone's orders without us even needing to say a word. That’s a great skill to have in the service industry! I’m looking forward to continuing our Sunday traditions here.
I had a craving for some delicious Mexican food, and Joaquin's certainly delivered. I called ahead to place my order, and it was ready when I arrived, which I really appreciate. We ordered the Number One combo—taquitos and chicken chili relleno. Both dishes were very tasty and the portions were quite generous. My only complaint is that the small bag of chips that came with our guacamole was filled with broken chips. It's always a bit disappointing to find that when you get home.
This restaurant is a childhood favorite; we have been coming here since I was just a little boy. The staff is very friendly; the long time staff recognize and always greet us warmly when we enter. Additionally they also know our order already! I always order the pancho and get 2 shredded beef tacos. The tacos are juicy and delicious while the refried beans have melted cheese which goes well with their chips and salsa. For those who have gotten a chip stuck in their throat: the rice will help push it down!
We had a fantastic authentic Mexican meal. Taco's were amazing, guacamole was fantastic, topped it off with a Cadillac margarita and flan. Lastly, the service was fast and efficient.
WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO THE ALBONDIGAS? That was a big reason we liked coming here, it was really good and authentic. The rest of the food, not so much. The tacos are okay, but honestly, how hard is it to make a decent taco? The MEAT in the albondigas soup was decidedly different (worse on this last visit. YUCK!! Too much chorizo? Really low quality, nasty taste and color. Mushy. Broth not as good either. Vegetables? None there. It was bad enough that I didn't finish it, and I LOVED it before! And to think I paid $7 for that, what a travesty. My iced tea tasted like dishwater; worse excuse for iced tea EVER. The waiter brought me another (tried to tell me first one maybe had too much ice... no, the tea was REALLY WEAK!! We won't be back. Adios, Joaquin's.
