Zauo is a lively fish restaurant. I loved my experience here as an enthusiastic fisherman himself. It is advisable to make a reservation before the time since this place is very popular. If you don't know Japanese, but stay in a hotel, ask your reception to make your reservation for you, as the staff at the restaurant speak very little English, although they are incredibly welcoming and hospitable! There are limited seating in the boat in the middle of the fish pond, I would recommend to book at least 3 days in advance and the person who ask the reservation specifically. If you are a smoker, half the restaurant is friendly to smoke, so you can request seats on request. Once you arrive, you will be displayed on your table and given a menu. There is a very large tasting menu, there is also a children's menu. If you don't really eat fish when one of our party warns, I recommend the chicken wings and fries, both are sensational. Once you have ordered drinks, you will see where to fish. In principle, each of the fish in the containers has clearly shown a fixed price next to the tables below. They use a small bar with several hooks for this and they are easy to catch. If you want to try your luck on the more tricky fish, the lower ends are right front, the kitchen closest and the more expensive ones are on the back of the restaurant closest to the bridge. (Front 2900 Yen Back 4900 Yen) the fishing rod rental is 100 yen each but all baits is free. You bait your hook and drop it into the water and wait until your fish bite, then use a small hand net. Once in the net, alert a server and they come by and ask how you prepare your fish. It is best to show on the menu if you do not speak Japanese. You can have your fish one or two separate ways. I fried my half sashimi and half deep. The other two options are tempura and cooked. It will be delivered to your table head and tail for decorative purposes, so be ready to see it in the eyes! We had an absolutely fantastic experience in this restaurant and will definitely go again!
