Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen - Yakima

This location has been open for four years, but I hadn't visited in 3.5 years due to my previous dissatisfaction with the food (it was either too spicy or I had issues with the service). This is the only Popeyes I have ever tried. Today, my father and I decided to return for an advertised special, and we were both pleasantly surprised by our experience. We used to frequently discuss our dislikes about the brand as we searched for a suitable place to have lunch together, but today our opinions changed completely. I had the mild chicken, which was juicy and flavorful (a significant improvement from my previous experience where it was dry and overly spiced). The fries were fresh and crispy, and my dad enjoyed his shrimp special very much; the coleslaw was also quite good. The staff we interacted with were cheerful, friendly, efficient, and accurate in their service. Both my father and I have revised our opinions about this brand and will consider it in our list of go-to dining options. However, I do have some feedback regarding the condiments. The advertisement featured cocktail sauce for the shrimp special, which was confirmed by the mobile app and noted on the 'picking slip' for dine-in orders, but it was missing from our tray. I even noticed two other customers from the drive-thru facing the same issue. I overheard the drive-thru staff say, "If they don’t ask for it, how am I supposed to know they want it?" Additionally, there was no ketchup available in the lobby for the fries, and no butter for the biscuit either, which required us to wait in line to request some from the cashier. It would have been great if they had offered the cocktail sauce, butter, and ketchup when serving our meal, as that would have enhanced our experience. Nonetheless, we will definitely return.

The service is consistently good, though it can get quite busy at times. I never have to worry about asking where my order is; if I'm parked, it’s likely because they’re busy preparing fresh chicken. I understand that restaurants often stop making certain items as they near closing time, as they want to minimize waste, especially when it’s just a couple of people ordering. My favorites are always the sandwiches and fries, but the chicken tenders come highly recommended as well. I’d definitely give it a 10/10 and encourage everyone to visit.

Popeyes has really upped their game! The chicken was quite good. I tried the tenders and the spicy chicken sandwich, both excellent. The mac and cheese was spot on as well. My only issue was that the butter for my biscuit was rock hard. Other than that, the entire meal was fantastic!

Last week, I visited the restaurant and ordered some sandwiches and chicken. We were assisted by a really nice guy named Jonathan, who was incredibly polite and friendly. I truly appreciated his service!

I'm not from the Yakima area, so I don't come here very often. But it was the last experience that marked an otherwise unique fast food experience I had, and for a place like Popeye it is hard to imagine getting something better than eating that sits a while before it gets picked up. That was not the case with my last visit. I have placed a mobile order online as I was at work and wanted to speed things up. I ordered the steamed chicken box with two biscuits, frits, potatoes and gravy. Upon arrival I was told by the cashier that the smoked chicken is cooked on order. A little inconvenience since I ordered in the app, but okay. Fresh food never hurts. I waited about 7 minutes before the food came. I didn't order a drink and the cashier gave me a free water cup. Had the advantage and instead got ice cream as I already had a drink in my lunch bag. I came to my vehicle and started looking into the box... My hands broke to the bottom of the box! The food was super hot, so delicious and although I burned my tongue on a few bites, it was so worth it! Not only were the secondary dishes amazing, but the ulcered chicken deserves all the glory. It was so juicy, as soft, delicate and tasteful as it. I never had such a chicken in a fast food restaurant. It tasted like real chicken. I was in love! I don't remember how many pieces I got, but I know that, although I was very hungry, I only eat two pieces of chicken, a bunch of fries and the mash pots. I was very full for about 8 hours! This included the rest of my working shift. Not only did I feel better eating chickens that were not fat, but the whole experience made me excited to go back! One thing I'm going to say is that I wish they cooked my food after I gave up my mobile order. I know that defeats the purpose of fresh food, but since I'm always in a hurry at work, it's good enough for us delivery driver to get our food in a dirt. Otherwise I'll be back!
