The Lido - Worthing

Been looking for somewhere for an English breakfast in a traditional cafe. Indoor and outdoor, wide range of cakes and all served up at reasonable prices by the affable Carl. It passes the acid test, the locals go there.

Went into a near empty cafe area as everyone outside with a service user from my work. Service user is alittle vocal. So when queuing to order food. I was asked not very politely by staff to take HER down the back of the cafe or outside! Bearing in mind there was actual people where this rude gentleman staff member asked me to go. Clearly just didn’t want his near his counter. Very disappointed in this and will be reluctant to take her there again after this

Quite simply put I had the temerity to pop my head through the door at 3.30 pm and said to the really unwelcoming guy working there that I was just having a quick look. Liking what I saw I asked if he was closing. Yes, now! came his snappy reply. No sorry or I can do a takeaway for you I 'll never go there again and I 'll spread my experience widely so that whoever owns the cafe that customers should be welcome and not dismissed as a nuisance!

After visiting this restaurant multiple times for coffee, we finally decided to try their sandwiches and chips. We ordered a smoked salmon sandwich and an egg mayonnaise sandwich on brown bread. Unfortunately, the bread was cheap and dry, not very pleasant. The egg mayonnaise was mostly mayonnaise with very little egg. On the bright side, there was plenty of smoked salmon. Adding some salad and using better quality bread would greatly enhance the overall experience.

Brought an ice cream from the ice cream shop here.The staff were really friendly,they have a wide range of different ice creams.Brought a magnum from here absolutely delicious.Would recommend,went here as it was the only ice cream shop open in the horrible weather.
