I asked the staff member to wipe down the table as she had just stood on the table whilst we were eating our meal. Staff member came back and threw the cloth on the table then walked off with a mouthful of attitude. Not sure if the bar staff are aware, they’re bar staff and not police officers. The tables ether side of us were also disgusted in the behaviour and got up and walked out. We were then accused of vaping by a staff member who then was taken aside by security after we had a conversation with security to advise we hadn’t been vaping, as the staff member walked past we made eye contact, and the staff screamed across the bar “WHAT” in a very threatening manner. 3 attempts have been made to contact someone at The Light Brigade to discuss this issue but no one has answered.
We hosted our sons 18th birthday on the rooftop. The staff were fantastic and the views are amazing.
Awful. Booked for Father’s Day dinner with the children. We booked the rooftop terrace, as we prefer noise reduction and general better ambiance. Once we arrived we were told that the rooftop was not licensed for children. I enquired ‘why?’ … as licensing was very ambiguous term, as we were dining in a hotel were alcohol is served in every location throughout the building and there are pokies located on the rooftop. I was not given any further explanation. We were then ushered to the Bistro section, which was noisy, and TV screens located on 2 walls that massively distracted the children and our family dinner out. No one gave us menus, just the single menu on the table. No kids menu. No specials menu. I had to go the bar to ask for those, and extra menus for everyone to view. On the menu is stated that Fathers good dine for free on Father’s Day. When I ordered at the bar in the bistro and enquired about the free dinner for the Father, the bar person said it only applies to people who booked beforehand and were eating on the bistro level. I stated that I had ordered a table well in advance of the day (albeit on the rooftop) and was eating on the bistro level. But she said that bc I had booked the rooftop and not the bistro, that I could not have the father eat for free. I tried valiantly to reiterate that I HAD booked beforehand, and was NOW eating on the bistro. Despite my good intentions to book the rooftop, it had not been clear that I could not eat on the rooftop for ‘licensing’ reasons. She was immovable on that front. The children had burgers. No complaints. My ‘poached’ chicken could not have been poached. It had skin on, and was crispy on the outside, almost burnt, and extremely dry. The portion size would not feed a bird. It was a piece of chicken. A few leaves of salad and a smattering of mushy ‘roasted’ pumpkin. My husband had the sirloin steak, which was extremely fatty and chewy. Will never ever return! Awful Father’s Day dinner.
Amazing views of the city at sunset. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious cocktails.
Rooftop was just a little cold but can’t help the weather
