Lee and Me - Wollongong

How quickly café/shop owners forget how Covid 19 closed their businesses. However, some are making up for lost ground now. This café is increasing their prices too much and the person behind the till didn’t like me querying a price. First time at this café today...and I asked for a bagel with cream cheese (toast was on the menu for $6 “TOAST Sourdough, Fig raisin, gluten free, Plain Croissant or Bagel with condiments). So the bagel here came with condiments for a total of $6. So…. You can imagine my surprise when I was charged $10. The bagel was 8cms diameter…. i.e. a “designer bagel” !!!! Not like the bagels one buys in the supermarket which are a decent size (probably 12 cms). When I went to pay, I had thought the bagel would have been between $6 $7.50. But no, it was $10. When I said to the male cashier, that’s a bit much, he informed me “That’s the price and there are plenty of other cafes around.”

The breakfast was great. very friendly service and fast meals. child's great meal was huge who loved my daughter. fortunately the next day went back during the holiday.

A bit of a wait for a table which was fine and to be expected on a Sunday morning.After putting our name down however we were told it would be at least 20 minutes so we went for a 10 minute walk and returned to be told rudely that 'our name had been already called out'. We were then seated quickly at the crowded communal table and were made to feel as though they were doing us a big favour. The first two things we tried to order off the menu were not available. The food took forever without apology but it was decent when it arrived. The coffee was also good. Overall for us though not an amazing experience unfortunately. However we perhaps got them at a bad moment on a bad day?However we ate at the Lower East Cafe the day before and the menu/coffee there was as good if not better with the benefit of really good service even when busy with full tables.

What's not to love. Menu suitable for a variety of tastes. Food fresh and nicely presented. Cost very reasonable. Staff friendly and efficient. Some tables outside & some inside. I have no hesitation in recommending this venue for breakfast or lunch. I am impressed with the venue, the staff and the food. Lee and Me can be proud of the service, and the freshness and quality of the food which they offer to their customers.

Lee & Me was recommended to me by a foodie friend and since then it's become a regular element of my road trips to Wollongong to visit my son who studies at UOW.The service is prompt and attentive.The food arrived quickly. A salad that was not an afterthought (with a beautiful dressing), a generous smashing of avo and 2 eggs poached to perfection, with a generous dusting of dukkha. It was yum!The coffee was that most unusual experience: perfectly balanced. The hipster obsession with light and fruit was perfectly (perfectly!) balanced with a genuine mouth feel and medium roast taste that is not overwhelmed. Bravo! The perfect accompaniment to a beautiful vegetarian, clean eating breakfast.
