We never had a problem with the food service or menu. The food was lovely hot and tasty. The staff seem to change a lot. Dont understand other reviews as we never had a problem. Well worth a visit. Its a lovely environment and needs supporting.
Myself, my husband, and two friends visited Leasowe Castle Restaurant for Christmas Lunch on Christmas Day. The table was booked for 1.00pm. It was freezing when we sat down. We mentioned this to the waiter and we were informed it was on a timer. The heating came on low after we had mentioned it. The place should have been warm on our arrival. There were old people there and it should have been warm. We ordered soup as a starter. The soups were cold and had to be sent back. The main meals of turkey consisted of two sprouts, one carrot and one parsnip, three roasr potatoes. The plate was practically empty. The turkey was processed. There was no stuffing on my husband's meal. All the meals were cold. The Christmas Pudding was minute they looked like chocolate buttons on the dish. Very small portion. We ordered coffees and sent them back they were stone cold. We asked to see The Manager and we were repeatedly informed he was busy. We did see him on.our departure but he said he was busy. He was standing behind the bar. For the amount of money we paid for the meal the food was appalling. There was no atmosphere it was more like a holiday camp instead of luxury dining. All in all we would not return there again. We were extremely disappointed. The customer is the main person but unfortunately I felt because we had paid upfront, we were ignored as they had been paid at their request before our visit. Next year we will visit a Carvery and get better value for our money.
Very disappointed, food cold, substandard. Turkey so dry we had to ask for a gravy boat. Vegetables awful and crumble was so hard we feared for our crowns. Will go back to home cooking next Christmas.
It needs to decide if it really is a restaurant or is more of a casual dining place. Disappointing menu and standard pub quality food but dressed and furnished like a decent restaurant and priced such as to be affordable to most. At the very least a dress code would make an improvement. Scruffy guests in tracksuit bottoms, incapable of using cutley properly didn't do the establishment any favours, made it feel more Wetherspoons than restaurant. Failing that, go for a more casual look and just call it the Brasserie not the restaurant. It wasn't bad but I certainly wouldn't recommend it.
