A request for decaf coffee was fine and there was a variety of things to choose from. The onion rings were fantastic, and the salad as well. One concern was for gluten free fries, the honest answer was that it was not known if the supplier could provide this. I enjoyed the fries as they had less salt, the gravy provided all the salt needed. This is a diner long established easy to get to, service was great as we did take out after placing the order. Easy to find by bus and worth a return trip.
This place is a hidden gem (or maybe it's not so hidden anymore). The food is like you would fine in someone's home, with fresh and flavorful ingredients. The had a Reuben, and was very impressed with the quality of the corned beef. The chicken fingers and home made fries that my fiancee had were also of really high quality, with excellent gravy. The chocolate milkshake that we had was also very tasty.
The Nook is a friendly corner diner with a great mix of standard diner fare. Their evening specials are always very good and the food quality is excellent. It is a great place for a relaxed meal or leisurely breakfast
We have been coming here for years every time we are in this area we always stop in for a meal its cozy and cute with simply tasty food at a decent price
My brother and I took our mother here. She currently resides at the Misericordia center. The food is simple but it is delicious. The pulled pork sandwich, which was the special of the day,was wonderful with the sauce that was not overpowering and allowed the taste of the pork to come through. Another diner, anonymous to us,paid for our meals. The owner said it was due to the fact that we were taking our mother out. The entire experience is overwhelming and a testament to the wonderful people of Winnipeg.
