フィードバックを提供するTonight was our first time visiting Tavern 109 and the food and service were great. Unfortunately, however, when we finished eating and asked for the bill, we were told the computers were down. We totally understood (and still do— tech difficulties happen! however after 25 or so minutes of waiting, our 1.5 year old daughter started to get fussy as it was getting close to bedtime, and she’d been strapped in for well over an hour. My husband took her out to the car so she wouldn’t irritate other customers, and I continued to wait for almost another 25 minutes by myself while my daughter melted down in the car. At this point, our waitress asked if she could manually write our bill and take my card information and apologized for the wait. So to reiterate— the food was great and our waitress was great, but I was pretty frustrated to see that after such an ordeal, we were offered zero discount (even still being charged an extra $2 for cheese, no less for the inconvenience. It would have gone a long way with us, as we still had to drive an hour home and spent a good amount of money on this dinner. Feels like giving some nod to our long, long wait would have been the classy thing to do, but no such luck.
Very good food! The restaurant seemed light staffed. So we waited quite a while to get our food ordered, and the server mentioned the kitchen was backed up. I'm sure it isn't usually like that. We were there right as they opened. It's a tad pricey. But I get it. Everybody has to make a profit. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
Pear pizza exceptional. Burger was overcooked. Chicken marsala was good but a tad thick. Tap water is irony . the service was very slow and we made reservations. Sat down at time of reservation 630pm and wasn't served our food for almost one hour later. Water or drinks for almost 10 minutes after sitting and never received a refill on any soft drinks or water. Waitress was absent when not serving or taking order. Service: Dine in
We visit Tavern 109 a couple times each year for dinner because the service and food are always top notch. Tonight not so much. We ordered a couple of cocktails and they were fine. We also placed an order for an appetizer. The restaurant was very busy so our drinks and appetizer were slow and that’s ok, we get it). However, we asked for waters and didn’t receive them. We placed our food order when the appetizers came out because everything was so slow. Of course, our food came out instantly, lol. However, at this point, we never received our waters, my wife didn’t get her salad, and I never got my soup. My wife ordered the fish and chips and they were great. I ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf, which I had ordered before on previous visits. Tonight, bacon was undercooked and underneath the meatloaf and the mashed potatoes almost seemed like instant potatoes they were so runny. The vegetable with the order was the chefs medley, which tonight was green beans with grilled mushrooms. I got about 10 green beans with no mushrooms at all. We never received our salad or soup. Never had our water refilled. At the end of our meal, when our server was grabbing the bill, I informed her of the salad and soup and even she noted that my potatoes looked bad. She came back and gave us the ol “ I talked to the manager and they are willing to give you a dessert”. So, they gave my wife a piece of the peanut butter pie to go. When she got home, we noted that the pie was a square piece about the size of a small brownie, see pic. Overall, a bad dining experience. I never understand why managers if they were actually told) think that giving me a free pie reverses all of the mistakes during a dinner out. I pay for the dining experience. It’s supposed to be special. I can buy my own pie the manager never even came and saw us. Not impressed.
