フィードバックを提供するHad a nice dinner. The clambake was very good and certainly generous portions. Will go again to try some of the other entrees. We saw some lovely meals served to other patrons.
The waitress was very attentive, friendly, and was able to make some recommendations after I told her this was our first time there. I think I may have had higher expectations than I should have. Nonetheless, I was disappointed with the quality of the crab cake dinner. I usually clean my plate, but left a full crab cake and picked through the first because the filler didn't have much crab and tasted more like a frozen crab cake then fresh. My wife had the fried fish and enjoyed it, but I doubt we'd come back. The prices on opentable also need to be updated.
Sussex is a fish place par excellence, but lobster isn't its forte. My wife and I had their famous col slaw. It is always so delicious with a sweet taste. We normally have the fish and chips which is world class. We should have stuck to that. Flavorless lobster leaves much to be desired.
The food was excellent as was the service, but I was disappointed that I didn't receive the 1000 which was promised and not received.
I ordered off of the handwritten gluten free menu, but thankfully I paid attention because my food came out with gluten in it. They made the food again, but the fish was extremely bland. I put salt, pepper, hot sauce, lemon juice and tartar sauce on it, but it still lacked flavor. One of my daughters ordered fish and the other ordered chicken, but the oldest reported that they both tasted the same (no difference in seasoning). My husband's crab cake looked very unappetizing as it looked like it was blackened. The server was nice and the restaurant was quiet, but I would not go back and pay the money that we did for mediocre food. Very disappointed!
