So my entire life, (56 yrs old), for the first 10 years we lived in Oregon... Came back for all summers to visit my freaking AMAZING grandparents. We A ALWAYS HAD RUBIS TACOS. LIKE 2 TIMES A WEEK OR MORE. THEIR SHREDDED BEEF TACOS ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST. This is a family run place. The father was so cool, then his son took over in the 90's.after not going for many years we went, got the taxis as usual and we were SO DISSAPOINTED! THEY WERE TINY COMPARED TO THE STUFFED HUGE TACOS THEY WERE MOST OF MY LIFE. I decided to try them again after coming all the way from Oregon where I recently moved, to suprise my family in South O. C. WE WERE SO HAPPY OMG. ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME. THEY WERE REALLY BIG WITH LOTS OF CHEESE AND EXACTLY HOW THEY HAD ALWAYS BEEN. I WILL CONTINUE TO DRIVE TOTALLY OUT OF MY WAY WHEN DRIVING FROM OREGON TO GO TO RUBIS. THE MEMORIES ARE THE VERY BEST AND I THANK THE FAMILY WHO HAS PROVIDED CONSISTENTLY GREAT GOOD FOR SOOO LONG. YOU DO NOT FIND THIS KIND OF QUALITY THESE DAYS. THEY ROCK!!!

2023 Update: So I’ve gone back several times, and it’s only fair to provide an update. I am very pleased to write that the quality of food and customer service has greatly improved. The drive thru morning breakfast is a much better pleasant experience, customers are valued. Definitely get bang for the buck with food vs price.2021 2-Star Review: Rubi’s used to be very good however the quality of food has regressed over the past couple of years. My recent experience was an order of pancakes, they were small (for the price) and did not taste very well. The cost has gone up, most likely due to the pandemic.The drive-through for breakfast is good idea however the young guy that works it has a negative attitude and poor customer service skills. I asked a question, and he responded with a sarcastic answer. So I won’t be going back.There are much better restaurants within a block or two with cheaper prices and better quality of food.
