The Steakhouse On Whitemarsh Island

When the food arrived, it was simply awful. We understood it was meant to be chargrilled, but it was overcooked and burnt. When we brought this to the staff's attention, we were told that this was how chargrilled food was supposed to taste and that everything was prepared according to our requests. However, while the Caucasian customers at our table received their orders perfectly, ours were burnt. We were then told we could order pasta, but no additional steaks would be provided. When we asked the hostess if she was the manager, she informed us that she was the owner and suggested that we could leave, starting to clear our plates. At that moment, I felt deeply insulted and reminiscent of the struggles of my ancestors. If I could rate this experience negatively, I would give it a -5 stars. Our waiter was polite and professional, but the overall behavior of the staff made us feel very much aware of our race—Black, not African American. It felt as if the restaurant should have a sign saying “Whites Only,” reflecting how we were treated throughout our visit.

The live music was a fantastic bonus! Parking can be a bit challenging since it's a busy location, but it's definitely worth the effort.

We visited for New Year's Eve for the first time, and it was a wonderful experience. We both ordered the filet, which was cooked to perfection. Our server was attentive and friendly, making our meal even more enjoyable. The dessert was fantastic, especially when paired with an after-dinner liqueur. We will definitely be coming back!

I love The Steakhouse! I usually go there for special occasions and have always enjoyed my meal. This last occasion was for New Year's Eve. It was a little noisier than usual, I think due to people drinking more, but the food was still excellent. The owner and his wife are very hospitable and treat you like family. I will continue to go to The Steakhouse

We visited the Steakhouse on NYE 2023. Everyone in our group had the filet, which was delicious. For the price, this is the best steak in Savannah. We also enjoyed the peanut butter cheesecake and chocolate torte for dessert.
