Springfield Fish & Chip Shop

Absolutely delicious grilled flake and the most superb pineapple fritters! Absolutely love this place. Only down side is there isn't as much variety as there is at other fish and chips shops but who needs variety when the fish is so fresh and delicious!

One of the better fish and chip places in eastern suburbs. discovered place by accident. my wife went to the thai place next door (which was lovely) but i felt like old style fish and chips. wasn't disappointed. the grilled fish was too die for. can see why this establishment has been around for decades. very yummy

If you want great take away fish and chips - fish with light, crispy batter and thin, crispy potato cakes (called potato scallops in some states) - this is the place to go. The chips are always beautifully cooked - hot, crisp and not at all oily. The grilled fish is also delicious. I've ordered from here many times and the quality is consistently excellent. It never fails. A good choice of fish for a local take away including Melbourne's popular flake (shark), and blue grenadier. Lots of other choices you'd expect including burgers and dim sims.The staff are very efficient, orders are promptly taken and filled, and they have the cooking down to a fine art. Your meal comes placed in a small cardboard tray, wrapped in white paper and secured with an elastic band. Good for taking in the car, doesn't get soggy AND stops you raiding chips on the drive home. If you are anywhere near Blackburn/Nunawading, you must try these fish and chips. In appearance the shop harks back to the 1960s/70s, so you might have a trip down memory lane as well as a good meal.

This place has seriously the best potato cakes I have had in years. They are crispy and crunchy! Their fried fish is also very good with a generous piece.

Wow ! Who can believe we have been going here for over 20 years ! We have tried other fish and chip shops both locally and in the country. Never have we come across better ones than this shop. Love the forever consistent quality. We always just have flake, chips, potato cakes and dims sims. Their potato cakes are yummy ! Good to support a local business for so long so go on give it a try. We always ring up and order then go and pick it up.
