Wood's Ice Cream - White Haven

I was passing through town on Sunday July 30, 2023 and I stopped by to give their ice cream a try. I purchased a small chocolate in a dish. It was delicious and satisfying. The ice cream started melting almost immediately. I don't know if that is a good or bad thing and it wasn't that hot outside that day. I'd stop by again if I was in the area.

I brought my fiancé to the Poconos for Father?s Day weekend and one night we decided to get ice cream. We wanted to go to a privately owned one for the experience so we picked Wood?s. It was awesome. Great place with so many flavors, options, and varieties. Fairly priced. Outdoor seating available.

We have been loyal customers of Wood’s Ice Cream in Whitehaven for 18 years and have always had a great experience—until now. I ordered a medium soft ice cream served in a medium cup, but it was only half full. When I inquired if that was indeed a medium size, the server informed me that their portions have decreased. My wife ordered a medium cone of hard ice cream, but the amount of ice cream on it was less than what you would expect for a child’s cone. When she brought this up, the server mentioned they were busy, as if they were trying to avoid running out of ice cream. This place used to be our go-to spot in the Poconos, but that’s no longer the case. I’m not sure what has changed, but these ridiculously small servings for $7.10 just aren't acceptable, even though the quality is still good.

The ice cream is great and the prices at the shop are reasonable, but the prices from their truck are not as good.
