Golden Chick - Wharton

What a letdown. First, I made sure to check that they had Wi-Fi before placing my order. I ordered a salad, okra, and a drink. Before my food arrived, I went to use the restroom, but the toilet was clogged with paper towels. When I attempted to connect to their guest Wi-Fi, it required a password. I asked for it, but they didn’t know it and told me to wait. When my food finally arrived, it looked fine at first. The salad appeared crisp and fresh, but when I dug into it, the lettuce in the middle was soggy and soaked with water. I ended up draining an unreasonable amount of water from the salad. To make matters worse, there was a piece of moldy broccoli included. I couldn't eat the salad I had paid for because of this. And I still never received the Wi-Fi password. This was my first and last visit to this restaurant.

I had an fantastic experience at this restaurant! We live just outside of Galveston, and it was my first time dining at a Golden Chick. Debra, the manager, was wonderful—she kept us laughing and having fun. She even offered me a sample of the roasted chicken since it was my first visit. The staff was friendly, and the kitchen was spotless. This was all happening just a few hours before closing time on a Friday night. Kudos to the Friday night team at Golden Chick for making my first visit so memorable!

We just enjoyed an amazing meal here after church. Although they were short-staffed, the service was still impressive. Debbie went above and beyond to ensure we received our food, and I actually felt we got more attention than in a typical restaurant. If more places had this level of service, the world would be a better place. She definitely deserves a raise!

This chick is not golden...it ain't even bronze or silver. The mac and cheese is thick and pasty and the dirty rice taste wild. It should be called dirty wild hog rice. Its just as pasty as the mac and cheese. Gross!!!

Let me start off with this place is awesome from the customer service to the grub itself. The gentleman working on 07/08/22 did their jobs to the fullest. My family and I couldn 't figure out what was for dinner after a hard day of moving my dad and the golden chick was on the way outta town and we stopped as we had never ate at this chicken place before. We all decided we wanted chicken strips so we got a 25 piece family meal with sides and some tea. The price was something you couldn 't pass up unless you were making chicken at home. Then let me tell you they have this sauce there that 's signature called zing sauce. We didn 't know what it was so we asked for details and then through the speaker I heard tasting is believing . So we pulled up to the window and got to give it a try. Boy that sauce is the business. At the window we met the coolest drive thru guys ever. He was all about servein the customer. We made a 35 min drive home and proceeded to eat out dinner. The food was all still hot and fresh tasting. The French fries are them ones that have the good crunch to um and the mashed potatoes we thick and filling. The strips are so juicy and the spicy was that heat you want for spicy. The rolls are nice and sweet with a perfect golden crisp. If you like golden chick or if you have never tried it before and your in Wharton you need to stop by and give much respect. We were complete strangers and were treated like family. My family and I will definitely go back. Much luv my 7/08/22 evening crew.
