One of the best cafes in NZ. Reasonably priced, super fresh food and always a friendly smile from the staff. A must stop on our way through Opotiki. Highly recommend the chicken avocado sandwiches and the seafood rolls yummy!
Great food and friendly service. Eat in or takeaway. Coffee is great
A good variety of foods. Doesn't have that mass produced feel/taste like the other bakeries. Nice atmosphere. Inside/outside seating. I love the chicken and camembert on foccacia.
I ordered an omelette, which was quite good. I usually get an omelette when I'm unsure about what to choose since they’re hard to mess up. My wife opted for a ham melt, but it had too many wet ingredients (including dill pickles or gherkins) and ended up soggy, which she found unpleasant; she didn't eat most of it. So, when selecting from the menu, it's wise to carefully consider what each dish contains. To be fair, someone else might have enjoyed the melt. This is true at any restaurant—it's best to stick with what you know unless you’re in the mood to experiment. The service was definitely acceptable. You place your order and pay at the counter. They offered a wide variety of pies, hot chicken and chips, and various baked goods (like ginger slice), in addition to a set menu. There should be something for everyone here. My coffee, a trim flat white, was fine. Everything was delivered to the table fairly quickly, though items arrived at different times—drinks first, then each main course as they were prepared. Overall, I’ve rated it 4 stars because everything was generally decent, even though some elements varied. I would definitely stop here again on a Sunday afternoon if I were hungry and wanted a coffee.
