フィードバックを提供するWith over 40years of coming in to City fish primarily for seafood to cook home for the family to enjoy with really no complaints . Today I decided to have lunch and ordered calamari and chips $17.00 why , because lemon is Extra 50 cents per wedge , fine, what was not ok was a hand full of calamari and most fries . I would have been ok with the price, but , sorry the worst poorly made calamari and rude employees and yes its the end of the road for me with this establishment..
Disclaimer: I worked here over 3 years ago and moved ; , so no reason to write a ‘fake’ glowing review. This was in my head as my father picked up some salmon recently and it made me think! Anyways the seafood is FRESH. Every other day a semi would drive up north a little and get right off the boat seafood. Transparency is key and we had no issues telling customers that a specific (very few item were previously frozen from some other country (no salmon tuna sea bass cod this is cheap stuff that was rarely ordered by customers . The late owner (RIP would go to these other countries to make sure everything was up to the proper standards and watch their process etc etc they did their due diligence for all products. Oysters were super fresh along with 15lb lobsters, things were strict with cleaning esp during the pandemic we always we’re wearing gloves when that was going on, before it was up to the person behind the counter. Barehand is normal esp with us washing hands before each customer etc etc people don’t realize you’re cooking the fish therefore burning off all bacteria if there was any. My family shopped here when I was 5, I’m 23 now they’re the go to for a reason. Consistency. Plus the clam chowder was made daily and in house we would sample it until it was perfect and even would take a little bowl to eat ourselves it so good! Lobster meat would come directly from the lobsters we had in the tanks bins they were in making it a lot if work but FRESH for customers. All in all I guess I’m slightly biased having worked there but to all retail and wholesale plus the kitchen area work their butts off, upstairs they would work on logistics to allocate the seafood, all in all I learned a lot but I say if you’re in the area looking for ‘good fish’ skip stop n shop. Come to City Fish. You won’t regret it. Faroe island salmon, chowder, crab cakes, cod were my personal favorites; If you’re feeling fancy Halibut is like butter, shrimp cocktail is phenomenal as well.
I called and asked for the price per pound of lobster meat, and the guy said he couldn’t tell me over the phone. Why would I drive 45 minutes to find out the price when you can just tell me over the phone? Stupid.
Love this place, fried fish quality has to be the best in state
I’ve been eating from here since a child, the food remains fresh and delicious. I strictly come here for the fish and chips, great customer service, good portions.
