La Fougere - Westport

My partner and I dined at this restaurant on the first night of our two-night stay. The food was excellent, as was the service. I would have rated it 5 stars if it weren't for the terrible piano playing. In the words of the legendary Eric Morecambe, the pianist was playing all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order. Despite that, the views were breathtaking once you looked past the car park and rooftops towards Westport.

I had a great experience at this restaurant. The food and service were both excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. The menu offered a variety of options to suit everyone's taste. I especially enjoyed the Irish breakfast.

We ate at this restaurant while staying at the hotel. The dinner was disappointing, especially considering the prices. The starters were average, with the goats cheese lacking texture to complement the breaded goats cheese ball, whipped goats cheese, and goats cheese log. The whipped beetroot did not provide contrast. The mackerel was the standout dish of the evening. The main courses were very underwhelming. The overcooked pork was priced at an exorbitant €29, and the overcooked hake could have been good if cooked for less time. The individual side plates of vegetables reminded us of food from the 90s. We decided not to have dessert and found that the bar was a much better option overall.

My birthday celebration at this restaurant was disappointing. Although we had a lovely window table with a beautiful view, the food did not meet our expectations. The staff were friendly and attentive, but the dishes fell short. The amuse-bouche was a bland carrot soup, the starters lacked flavor, and the main courses were not cooked as ordered. The desserts were the only highlight of the meal. Overall, the restaurant's quality has declined since COVID-19, with overpriced and poorly executed dishes. I would suggest looking elsewhere for a better dining experience, despite the nice view.

The food at this restaurant was not only beautifully presented, but it was also incredibly delicious. The flavors were exceptional. The only downside was that we had to wait 20 minutes for our wine because the waiter was chatting with other guests, which is why I am giving it a 4-star rating. However, I would still highly recommend this restaurant.
