El Tapatio Dos - Westlake

The food is incredible! The shrimp chimichanga is absolutely fantastic! The Westlake location has been fully renovated.

The service was incredibly efficient, resembling a well-oiled machine. First, they brought us water—a must for me, especially before tackling hot salsa. Next came the chips and salsa, followed by our drinks, appetizers, and finally our main courses. What impressed me most was how seamlessly the staff worked together; multiple waiters were attentive to our needs, and we never had to ask for anything more than once. I have to admit, I'm usually a big fan of guacamole, but I thought their version could use a bit more lime juice and salt. If you're trying to decide between guacamole and queso, I'd recommend going with the queso instead! Overall, I couldn't be happier with my dining experience. Everyone in my party enjoyed their entrées, and we all agreed we’d love to come back again.

To make matters worse, I ended up with food poisoning the next day, and that was the only thing I had eaten all day. I even brought my leftovers to the ER, where they tested the food and confirmed it was the source of my salmonella poisoning. This place truly does a disservice to Mexican cuisine.
