Terrace - Westbank

This is only the Intermezzo eats cause we missed out on lunch times but it still was surprisingly good.

My wife and a friend and I recently had dinner at the Terrace Restaurant at Mission Hill. The entrance to the property is certainly impressive and the location overlooking Okanagan Lake is sublime.All seating is outdoors, aligned in 2 rows, one being on the lake side with the best views, and the other along the winery property. We, unfortunately, had the latter, but it is still a very pretty spot.The menu looked quite interesting, with plenty of variety. My wife received a gluten free menu with most of the same choices as the main one. We selected appetizers, a mushroom dish for me and heirloom tomatoes and ricotta cheese for her, both of which were very tasty. However, hers came with croustini despite being ordered from the gluten as the server had already forgotten. A small thing to be sure, but disappointing nonetheless.The main courses were fine, but uninspired. I had pasta and she had duck, but nothing was remarkable and the duck was not the most tender.Dessert was a high point, however, because it was a very good gluten free cheesecake, made with buckwheat. My wife was finally able to get away from creme brûlée.With a glass of wine we spent $100 per person. The meal was fine, but for that price I expect something more.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch and were not disappointed! The terrace is lovely, with an outstanding view. The food was exceptional, as was the service. Our server was knowledgeable about both the wine and the ingredients in our pasta. I would highly recommend the Terrace if you are in Kelowna!
